Simmons Industrial Services'  Electrical & Mechanical division compliments our Plant and Machinery Installation division and is equipped to deal with all manner of plant room decommissioning, installations, on site fabrications, pre-fabrications and complete pipe work runs. We offer this service throughout the UK and Europe.   

Mechanical Services

We are experienced in:

  • generator installations comprising of fuel pipework, both screwed and welded - single skin and bunded pipe, from ½ to 6in diameter.
  • custom modifications to new plant pipework in plant rooms, chiller rooms and to air handling units.
  • pre-fabrication of frames and gantries for plant removal or installations.


Example Project : Client purchases 2 MVA Genset and requires installation

We arrange the following:

1. Storage (practicable if the set is coming from overseas)
2. Delivery to site (GenSet, attenuation, fuel tank etc)
3. Offload and position, including fitting primary and secondary exhausts etc (Plant Installation team)
4. Make connections from fuel tank(s) to set via pipe runs in risers (Mechanical & Electrical team)
5. Pressure and leak test pipework (Mechanical & Electrical team)
6. Cable up GenSet to supply (Mechanical & Electrical team)
7. Load bank test and commission with client (Mechanical & Electrical team)
Throughout the installation there is daily communication between the client and a Simmons Technical Representative.

Electrical Services

  • Connect / disconnect of electrical supplies
  • Installation and testing of switch panels, PDU’s, AHU’s
  • Experienced in generator installations up to and including 2 ½ MVA
  • Compliments both the plant installation and mechanical services
