With the introduction of BS7121 (British Standard Code of Practice for the Safe Use of Cranes) and LOLER (Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations) clients who do not have sufficient experience and knowledge to plan and supervise crane operations must place orders on a contract lift basis.
When hiring a crane under CPA Crane Hire conditions the client must provide an appointed person and supply our operator with a detailed method statement prior to the lift. The appointed person must supervise the lifting operation as detailed in BS 7121 (Safe Use of Cranes). Clients must also provide the right level of insurance cover.
When hiring a crane under CPA Contract Lift Conditions, Simmons Industrial Services will supply an appointed person to plan and supervise the lifting operation. We will also provide the agreed insurance cover as per CPA Contract Lift conditions. It's all taken care of.
